Background
KS Danmark was contacted by a steel contractor who needed help to complete an ongoing DS1140 case.
There were outstanding comments on the documentation that required follow-up, and the A5 material had to be completed so the case could be taken forward in the agreed documentation flow.
The challenge
When a DS1140 case is already under way, it is important first to get a clear overview of the existing documentation.
What has already been dealt with? Which comments are still open? And what is missing before the remaining documentation can be completed?
For the steel contractor, the need was therefore not to start the whole process again, but to identify and deal with the specific outstanding items.
The solution
KS Danmark reviewed the available material and created an overview of the remaining issues.
The engineer’s comments were then followed up, and the necessary documentation was handled and structured.
On this basis, the A5 material was completed so the documentation could be taken forward in the agreed DS1140 flow.
The result
The steel contractor brought the remaining documentation work together and gained a clear path towards closing the case.
The case also shows that an ongoing DS1140 case does not necessarily have to start again just because documentation is outstanding.
A systematic review of the existing material can reveal what can already be used, and exactly where the effort needs to go.
Has your DS1140 documentation stalled too?
KS Danmark can help review existing documentation, follow up on outstanding comments and assist in getting the remaining documentation completed.
We can also follow the documentation on an ongoing basis throughout the project, so control and documentation are handled in parallel with execution.
